Painting with Light

This week my studio class was assigned to paint with light–so cool!  I love this class because I get to use my creativity differently than when I’m taking pictures for the school newspaper or my photojournalism class. In the studio class, I’m in charge of everything–who I’m shooting, what they’re wearing, the concepts, where the light is, and while some of this is carried in when doing a portrait for a newspaper, most of my photojournalism work is making something out of the parts that are given to me–the people who are there, the lighting, the story, and I take the parts and make something beautiful out of that.

I also like this assignment because it was a great excuse to go buy a box of 50 glow sticks.
